hair products for black women

Natural Skincare for Natural Beauty   by Harold Carpenter

Ancient civilization had long discovered what nature has bestowed upon us. For generations, women have used nature’s gifts to care for their bodies. The aloe vera was used by Cleopatra to make her hair thick, and henna to make her hair black and shiny. The extracts of plants and herbs were mixed to make remedies for skin, hair or other beauty problems. The effects of these natural remedies or natural skincare products, fresh from nature, may take a while but will gradually be visible on the skin as it works from within.

Resveratrol is one of the most common elements found in anti-aging supplements. It is known to slow down the aging process by purifying your blood and detoxifying the system. Resveratrol was only discovered in the 20th century from roots of the plant hellebore but it is also present in grapes and therefore, in wines- both red and white. Wine drinking has been practiced in times long before ours, not just for merriment but also for its health benefits.

Other natural skin products include Emblica officinalis (Indian Gooseberry), Rubia cordifolia (Indian Madder), Acacia catechu (Mimosa catechu) and Berberis aristata (Tree Turmeric) which are all known to aid in the purification of the blood, releasing of toxins from the body and also for their anti-oxidation and anti-inflammatory properties. These plants do not exist in a lot of places in the world and are hard to find, using them for beautification may be a hard and laborious procedure especially the process that it will have to undergo for it to be used for its intended purpose. Fortunately, these plants have been made available conveniently to the public when scientists have discovered ways to process them, retain their beneficial properties and put them into supplements or topical solutions.

Chemically enhanced beauty products may be effective but there are always side effects like allergies, pigmentation of the skin due to long usage or exposure to the sun or even as worst as skin cancer. Reading the label of its contents helps a lot and saves you a trip to the dermatologist. One can never to too careful in choosing a product.

There are a lot of chemical substances present in beauty products that are not known to the public making them ignorant of the possible effects that it may have on them and because of this, a lot of women have started to be very careful in choosing skin care products. Women have started to look for labels that say “hypo-allergenic” and “100% natural”, making herb-based supplements, soaps, topical solution and cosmetics the number one choice. More and more industries have followed the trend of making their beauty products nature-friendly.

Due to its natural herbal properties, there are no harmful side effects. Although, like any other supplements, prescribed dosage in the label should be followed to avoid unwanted results and maximum success for these herbal supplements to work will be obtained. These herbal natural skincare products are sold Over the Counter but you have medical condition, the advice of a physician should always be sought first.

Encyclopedia of African American Business History

Encyclopedia of African American Business History

$174

Black business activity has been sustained in America for almost four centuries. From the marketing and trading activities of African slaves in Colonial America to the rise of 20th-century black corporate America, African American participation in self-employed economic activities has been a persistent theme in the black experience. Yet, unlike other topics in African American history, the study of black business has been limited. General reference sources on the black experience – with their emphasis on social, cultural, and political life – provide little information on topics related to the history of black business. This invaluable encyclopedia is the only reference source providing information on the broad range of topics that illuminate black business history.Providing readily accessible information on the black business experience, the encyclopedia provides an overview of black business activities, and underscores the existence of a historic tradition of black American business participation. Entries range from biographies of black business people to overview surveys of business activities from the 1600s to the 1990s, including slave and free black business activities and the Black Wallstreet to coverage of black women’s business activities, and discussions of such African American specific industries as catering, funeral enterprises, insurance, and hair care and cosmetic products. Also, there are entries on blacks in the automotive parts industry, black investment banks, black companies listed on the stock market, blacks and corporate America, civil rights and black business, and black athletes and business activities.
